Some Before Photo's of my 74 Cuda
« on: April 16, 2006 - 10:06:46 PM »
Here are some photo's of my 74 before i start tearing her down, I purchased this car in 1982 for 150.00 Dollars did some bodywork and painted ,but now its time to do it right . She's been sitting for almost 10 years (unfortunatley) that was when my youngest daughter was born with multiple Handicaps and took all of our time and money. Now that we have things pretty much situated with my daughter now it's time to get my CUDA back into shape. It was an original 318 car that now has a 360/727 in it now

I've been thinking of doing the Body back to Stock with the exception of some Frame connectors. The original 318 and Tranny are long gone so i have been considering building a 440 for it with a beefed up 727 . I know a few OLD YARDS around here that used to have what i need now it's just a matter of getting out there and searching.
I always liked the Yellow with the Black Billboard Stripes I will either do that or Red with White Billboards. I figure it's probaly gonna be a 2 to 3 year project , But hey i've waited this long i might as well do it right :money:  :roflsmiley:

Looks like a great project!  Have you started tearing it apart yet?  Take lots of pics along the way...you know our addiction to them.  :roflsmiley:

Sounds like a great project. I would go with the black Billboard stripes with the yellow paint.

With the price of used 5.7 hemis coming down in price at the salvage yards, you could modernize the car for about the same dollars (possibly less) than the price of a good 440 and tranny combo. Street and Performance has just about everything you would need to do the install and Hooker is making the headers now.
Turn the key and head down the highway on the Power Tour. Power, reliability and decent fuel mileage as a bonus and it's a hemi.
Just a suggestion.

I was thinking about doing the same thing with the Cuda I'm restoring. Mancini sells all the parts including the headers, mounts and oil pan to put the 5.7 Hemi in a "NEW" HEMI-CUDA. New or old hemi- a Hemi-Cuda is still a HEMI-CUDA!
Rob

Did I say HEMI-CUDA yet?
