Recessed marker lights
« on: June 16, 2006 - 04:03:38 AM »
While I am getting down and dirty with my body one of my projects is to recess my side markers.I planned on cutting out the original metal and adding stand-offs for the depth ,but welding would be required and I don't trust my welding 100% I'd realy hate to pucker the metal of even burn right though it.Would body solder work for this pourpose? :dunno:

Apparently it's much safer to tack around the piece in many steps than to just lay a bead around the whole piece at once.

The quarter replacement article I saw started with welds ~2 or 3 inches apart all the way around. Each time he would subdivide the gap smaller and smaller until it was a solid bead around the panel.

Never done it myself though.

I'd be interested in seeing the recessed lights though. :)
