1970 fk5 paint
« on: April 10, 2006 - 09:50:42 AM »
I have just recently found a 1970 barracuda with deep burnt orange metallic paint color.  I was wondering how common this color is.  Are there any numbers of how many cars with specific colors?  I havn't actually seen a deep burnt orange metallic.  I have seen deep orange, burnt orange, hounds tooth seems close also, but I havn't ever seen deep burnt orange metallic.  Any pictures of the color?  You can see a small amount of the color where the steering column comes through the firewall.

My car was originally FK5, here is a picture of an AAR that color. Now that I did a search didn't find many that color. Mine was FK5 with a black vinyl roof originally.

Here is a pic if it's not to big. Exactly what mine will look like when done(exterior wise). Mine is a 1970 Barracuda Gran Coupe, 318 auto on column. Fk5 exterior and burnt orange interior. I don't think u see to many around. I like the oddness of it. Like to be different.  JAson

I think that I like that color.   The car has a burnt orange interior that is brand new.  Since it has a  new interior I suppose that it makes since to paint the car the original color.  Who knows maybe I will make yet another AAR clone.  Yours looks great 1BADFISH.  Thanks for the picture of the correct color.

MoparNoCar, looks like we are in the same boat.  The oddly diffrent boat.  Great picture, I have considered putting in a 440 since I have a few around.  The 70 gran coupe is what I am looking for but a regular 70 will be just fine for a while.

This barracuda is an A904, 318 230 hp,am radio, drip rail molding air car, lh mirror.  FK5 on top and on bottom. Originally white and black interior, now interior is burnt orange and black.
The car is pretty much rust free with the exception of one bent rear frame rail that has caused rear quarter buckle.

Thanks for the compliment Cuda'Hunter, I think an FK5 AAR Clone would like sharp!
