Gear box leak
« on: April 20, 2006 - 09:47:15 AM »
I have a gear box that is leaking out of the shaft that hooks to the steering column. Does anyone sell that seal or does it come in a kit for the whole gear box? Thanks

i stand corrected , the service manual says there is a special tool to remove the seal & it can be installed without removing the steering box frm the car at all

Whenever I see "special tool", I picture big money just for the tool. Any idea what this tool looks like. Thanks

nope but it must pull the seal out of the top of the steering box without hurting the shaft , I `m sure it can be done if you are careful without the special tool
