Pickup Tube Hits Bottom
« on: April 30, 2006 - 07:02:38 AM »
:clueless: Not sure on this one and need a little feedback. I have a 7 qt Milodon low pro pan, using two gaskets and a windage tray, the pickup tube came from Milodon as well and is the correct PN for the pan. I have a 1/2" pickup tube and when I install the pan the little rectangular perch on the bottom of the strainer hits the bottom of the pan, anyone else use this pan before with this combo before? I'm worried it will wear through if it touches the pan. Maybe they make it that way so it will support the tube but with the 1/2" tube, it already seems ridgid enough, I wouldn't think the need to support it would be a concern.  :dunno:

it definatly should not hit the bottm , especially if the screen in on the bottom not the side of the pick up , it wil starve the system if it is , bend the pick up soi ther is a 1/4 of clearance

:iagree:  Just give it little "encouragement" by bending it a little.  I have had to "help" many of those over the years.  Too close to the pan, too far from the pan, they just need a little tweaking.

Sounds good, thanks for the replies, the strainer is 1/4" up but the little guard or brace that hits the pan is what I was worried about. Just don't want it to wear through! I'll do some tweaking.
