Wanting to supercharge my 360 4-barrel, is there anything i should do first?

I have a 74 challenger with a crate 360 (stock mopar as far as i know)  And i wanted to supercharge it (not nessecarily a bigass blower sticking out of the hood, i might go with a centrifugal)

Basically, is there any thing that i would need to do to the engine beforehand, or can I just install the supercharger and be good?

depemds what you want the result to be , you can just bolt on the blower But if it was me I would use forged pistons, reduce the compression & have a cam made specifically for blown engines to maximize the results considering all the cost to do the conversion

If you want the full benefits of the blower you need to do what Chryco says.

You'll probably be limited to 5 or 6 psi. A came change is in order. A wide centerline cam is best for this. Also, if you don't have a Holley carb for this, I'd get one. The Carter /Edelbrock is doable so I'm told. However, Holley mods for this are allways done. Nitrophil floats are needed I'm told. A fuel pump upgrade may veru well be needed to overcome the intake pressure.
