I run nothing but distilled water in my motor since i built it. i do run just a litttle bit of green coolant in it, apparently it helps out the water pump bearing.
The distilled water doesnt have anything in it that causes things to corrode or rust like regular tap water does. you will need to drain the block, radiator, and flush the heater core to make the swap worth while imo.
