70 'Cuda #'s matching.
« on: May 11, 2006 - 04:22:56 PM »
What do you guys think of this car?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1970-Cuda-s-Matching-Original-Two-Tone-Paint-V02-NR_W0QQitemZ4638633130QQcategoryZ6409QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

This is basically what I want like a 70 or 71 383 or 440 if I were to get a #'s car. I REALLY want a 71 Hemi but I can't even afford a reproduction of that  :-\ but have been thinking maybe I can make one out of a decent body, crate engine etc. That way I can space out the $ and take a few years to build it as I have the dough and then end up with something really cool at the end. I don't know I'm confused, all I really know is I want an E-Body, but like anyone I don't want to get something and wish I had gotten something else.

That looks pretty good.  I wonder why there aren't any bids yet.
But if you want to put a Hemi in it, you shouldn't start with a # matching car.

I'll bet there's more work needed than you think there is...  :2cents:

There's a lot of body work needed on that one.  I don't know that I'd go $30K on it.

Well the auction ended with no bid. I think it's odd that it's a 'Cuda with bench seats and 2 tone paint. I like the documentation and the survivor aspect but not a big fan of the color, the column shift or the bench seats.

Yep, I'm not much on the color either. I would prefer a console shift. I know the car isn't perfect, but a numbers matching big-block... I'm surprised nobody bit at 30K.  :screwy:

There is a 70 cuda with a 440 listed on ebay in North Port Florida.  It said that it was matching #'s.  The starting bid was 30k with a "buy it now" for 55k
It's about 45-60 minutes from me, if someone was bidding on it I would try to escape and take a look at it for you  (I'll have to be careful, I'm getting married in 2 weeks and she is on a "no car/get married kick"
I don't have a link to ebay, but you should be able to find it- note: I think the title say's "Barracuda"  if you do a search 200 miles from zip 33912.

I'm not an expert but if I can help just let me know.
