Looks like the one on my Chally. The last tumbler? closest to the chrome knob has to be pushed in from inside the glove box door. These are the flat brass shtingys that the key moves out of the way when you insert it. I used a small allen wrench, there was not a lot of room to work but when she came she came.

Thanks bullitt99-- this isnt a keyed latch, though.     I fished around in there with a tiny allen wrench pressing on anything that seemed to give.... -- only when I locked the latch and repeated the random pressing.... finally they separated!  After they were apart I could see the tiniest edge that the spring loaded tang shows up when the latch is locked.  Your idea to use a tiny allen wrench is what led me to it.  THANKS!!!

I checked the 1974 Body Service Manual, no mention of the latch at all. 1973 only covers the locking style.  :clueless:

Can you take a photo of it from the back side?
