How to decode date code(heads)

That was me that posted it,lol,thanks anyway.I was looking for date code info not casting number info.For instance I have a set of 340 J Ta Heads with a date code of 2530 I was just wondering how to decode that date and the logic behind it so i can decode other heads in the future

I got a little confused when i started reading about Chyslers 10,000 day date coding method on Year ones website,this make more sense.

On the contrary,to me,when i was 20 if i had a spare hour with nothing to do I was bored out of my Gord,now i cant find one,lol.The years go by MUCH faster now,time is speeding up.

I got my head date a little off.I was wondering if its common for my 340TA Heads to have a casting date one day apart?One is 2860(286th day of 1970)and the other is 2870(287th day of 1970)Most of the heads I have seen had a wider date margin,like months,maybe because on those motors a head was swaped at some time?
