Flowmaster 30 series

Has anyone used or heard them on an E-Body?  I have a chance to buy a pair of them at a pretty good price.  They are 2 1/2" center in center out, would that be a problem?

I would not use them 1 they are restrictive , I have seen them totally change color on just a cam break in secondly to fit properly you need side in center out

Yikes, that's not what I'm looking for!  Any recommendations?  I want mufflers that fit correctly (but 2 1/2"), flow better than originals, and sound a bit better than original.  The only thing this car had we got it were the round mufflers behind the axles and right before the tips.  I think there was more to it when new.  It was not all that loud though.  It kind of "gurgled" actually.

Thanks!  I'll look into those options.  2 1/2" should be good enough for a small block, right?  I have seen aftermarket tips in 2 1/2" and 3".

yes , 2 1/4 -2 .5" on a small block
 BTW the Hookers are really well made & sound good

Yeah, I'm curious too. 

So many cars have Flowmasters on them.  My car needs to be a little louder and was sort of edging toward Flowmasters.  I guess I thought loud was less restrictive.  Only thing is that they sound sort of "hollow".

I can`t say that I have tried the same car with & without flowmasters on the dyno But I have seen more than 1 set totally discolored after just a 25 min cam break in whick can only mean they are trapping heat & yes they do sound Hollow , I like the sound of the Hookers better more throaty & they bark when you get into the loud pedal
 I also witness a remarkable 3 HP gain going from 2 1/2 " Walker Turbos to uncapped on a 340  on the dyno , right Brian !! So maybe the cheapy mufflers work great too

Well, speaking of the turbo mufflers, are those street Hemi design still available from Walker?  I know you can buy over the counter mufflers that will "fit" Hemi cars, but are they the same on the inside as the ones that came from Mopar?

SO the horsepower loss(if any)Is negligible.I prefer the sound of flowmasters over all others and have had good luck with them,I think I'll stick with them,besides the fact I have 2 brand new pairs waiting for my GC and Chally,lol

I didn`t say the HP loss is negligable as I have not tried  back to back tests with the flowmasters , from the heat discoloration I would say the opposite that the flowmaster is probably more restrictive than the lowly walker mufflers
 I am not sure if the Walker Hemi mufflers are still available
