Hemi Cuda and a Hemi Challenger
« on: June 04, 2006 - 04:12:25 PM »
Now that I have your attention. I got to see both a Cuda and a Challenger saturday night at a weekly car show. Both cars are re-creations but had hemis. The Cuda had a second fender tag that stated CLONE. The Challenger is a 71 R/T vert, it started life as a base 318 auto now with a Hemi with auto and 71 R/T stripes. Also got a pic of a 340 duster and two pics of a 78 "Challenger".
I had forgot my camera so I had to take the pics with my cell phone so sorry for the quality of the pics.
The second fender tag on the Cuda had a list of options that were added to the car later in life  such as the shaker hood and black vinyl top.

I have been looking at the pics of the Cuda and that car looks familiar. It comes to mind that I have seen it or a car that looks like it on this forum.   :dunno: Any help on the identity of this car?

That looks like Hemi-71's car. He had a fender tag made that purposely said "clone", so nobody would question it.

Yeah, thats my old cuda. Guy's name is Mack...good guy who has a boatload of Mopars and other muscle. I had that fender tag made up, and it says 'Clone" on it so there's no question of what you are looking at.

Here is my current fender tag on my 70.

AG Backeast. He makes them for Govier, so avoid the middle-man who charges $150, and go direct to the source and pay $50. He's on the internet, if you cant find him, let me know and I'll get you a phone #. He will not make a tag up to load up a car with options unless you have documentation. If you put "clone" on the tag, he'll make it read anyway you want. If you look at the tag i had made for my 70, you'll see some codes on there that don't exist. My way of having fun with the #'s guys.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think his name is A.J. Backeast? In any case, I found him in Hemmings motor news. I had him make up a fender tag for my car since mine was missing in action. I had to answer alot of questions as to what my car had, but his tag was real sweet. I think it cost me $100.  :clueless:
