Well I got my 340 started up and it sounds rather mean. Its a 73 block with stock crank and rods, KB pistons, 915 heads that are mildly ported, Performer RPM cam and airgap intake, 600 performer carb, mopar performance rockers, and chrome ignition box. I have it tuned at 10 degrees advance at idle with is about 850 and about 30-35 degrees full advance at about 3000 RPMs. At 850 RPM idle the motor is pretty lopey. Do you think this motor could be tuned to run smoother at a lower RPM or with the performer RPM cam this is probably the best I will get. Any thoughts? Any one else running a similar set up? I am just glad to have my car running after a year and a half.
