Hello
I've been fiddling with the timing on a stock 360 and don't know if I'm making things better or worse. Whenever I use the timing marks on the dampener and a light the motor won't even idle if I get even close to tdc. Right now the mark is way past after tdc. So, I've just set the timing so the engine idles smooth at an idle rpm. Chryco, I read somewhere that you suggested running the rpms upto 3grand and adjusting the distributer until the rpms start to drop off. Do I have this right? Tonight I want to check and make sure the rotor is for sure pointing directly to no.1 cylinder at tdc of the compression stroke :undercar:, maybe that's why I can't use a light.
