San Diego hotels? Anyone have suggestions
« on: June 15, 2006 - 10:48:07 AM »
Way off topic here but thought I'd ask.  Seeing how the club is "global" can anyone in the San Diego area recommend a decent moderately priced hotel to stay at.  I am traveling out there this fall w/my wife for our 10th (stopping in Vegas and Disney along the way) and we plan to stay in San Diego for 5 days and go to Sea World and the SD Zoo.  Also visit the beaches and possibly take a trip to LAX to visit our cousin who will be starting school there.
I've looked online and through my AAA books but each hotel hypes themselves up so it is hard to get an honest idea of value.  I'm not into spending $280 a night for a place to rest my head but I also don't want to wake up in the morning with bugs and mice in the room either. Looking for something around $130 a night that has a price feel and look.
I'll keep looking but in case anyone knows of a place or has contacts thought I'd post it up.

Don't know if this will help or not. But if you don't have a particular "name" you want to stay at go on priceline.com and pick the star level you want.

Example: Super 8 is usually 2 stars

I've used them with a good sucess rate. Although it may take a try or two to really get the hang on it. (getting best deal $$$ wise). Good luck

P.S. I ALWAYS use them for car rental!!
