With regard to suggestions on what makes the 727 trans stronger, ck out the following:http://www.transmissioncenter.net/727Transmission.htm although I didn't use them for my rebuild cause they were discovered after-the-fact. If I ever need to again I will likely contact them the next time. Speaking of the next time, I have no idea when that might be as a bone stock 727 is, in my opinion, the strongest (factory-built) auto trans ever made. However, some have said, first-gear burnouts have been known to do damage to stock 727's.
Lots of people like Turbo Action's Cheetah valve body #17676 which has the benefit of a standard shift pattern.
