Coolant leak
« on: June 25, 2006 - 01:20:54 PM »
Hey guys,

I pulled my engine to rebuild it and for some reason antifreeze came of of the spark plug holes. This is very concerning to me since the engine so far has just been sitting in the car not running - what does this mean? I have sent it out to be magnafluxed and hot tanked. Any help to calm me down would be great. Also, are the TTI headers less of a hassle to get in and out of my engine bay, because my Hooker super comps are a nightmare and I do not want to deal with them again. Thanks.

Kyle.

You don't mention what engine you have, but if it's a big block, then anti-freeze will surely flow out of the holes where the exhaust manifold/header bolts would go. If you are having it rebuilt anyway, I wouldn't worry about this.

As for headers, they are a pain. That's the bottom line. Like getting ten pounds of crap into a 5 pound box.  :pullinghair:

make Sure the coolant is leaking from the spark plug holes & Not the exhaust stud holes , if it has coolant leaking out the spark plug holes you have a bad head gasket or a cracked head or block
no header is an Easy install but TTi does fit great once in place

I am positive that the leak is out of the spark plug holes, so lets pray for a crappy head gaskets or heads since I have new ones. I will find out this week if I am in the clear. Thanks. (Oh yeah, its a Big Block - Mike)
