Wiring for my 73 -340 Cuda.....4 speed
« on: June 29, 2006 - 10:18:57 PM »
I  have 2 wires coming thru my firewall and  not sure to where they go. When standing in front looking into enginejust below the throttle cable there's  a  one inch grommet molded onto a black wire with a female spade connector to where and  I  believe it goes to my reverse light mounted on dash near ash tray? The other is a female round style connector with a molded grommet approx half an inch in diameter ..comes thru firewall approx level with and to the right of the throttle cable close to the power brake booster..wire is cream with a black trace.......for what?.....goes to where?  I have a wiring diagram for the engine bay  but now need one for the dash.  Prior owners  have been adding/cutting  some wires under dash and a diagram  would help if someone has it....all my lites work, emergency flasher  except I've no signals or dash lites, the dimmer on dash does nothing as of yet?....thx......

The first one you mentioned is your dash reverse light and plugs into a loose connector attached to the lower left bukhead plug (the little 4 wire one under the wiper motor plug)  Those 2 left wires of the plug go to the reverse light switch on a manual tranny. One wire is 12V, the other goes to your reverse lights. So it plugs into the light side.

The other one I have also in my 72 Cuda but can't remember where it connects to right now.
