Got my fender tag from Galen today....
« on: July 15, 2006 - 01:54:07 PM »

Got the tag after 14 months wait time, was WELL worth the wait. Looks spot-on to OEM down to the font and stampings. This required a copy of the car's broadcast sheet and dash tag pencil rubbing.

Some newbies have asked about fender tag repros, so I thought I'd put couple of kudos in for Galen's work. http://www.gvgovier.com/

Also have an copy of the 1970 Options and Accessories Pack which breaks down % of options installed on cars. Anyone want me to scan that in, unless it is archived here already on the site?

14 months? Wow. The few I have helped with so far usually only take 2-3 weeks.

Wow, our Challengers were born the same day! :worshippy
Not to rub it in but I got a new tag made for my car last year from Galen's source, A&G Backeast, and it showed up in the mail within a week of my mailing the check (for not a whole lot of money)

It is my understanding that GG does not make the tags - he out sources them , and 14 weeks let alone 14 months is unacceptale and not in my estimation worthy of kudos. :2cents:

Galen is one of those guys that the hobby needs.  He knows more about these cars than many of us combined, however I would STRONGLY recommend exhausting all avenues prior to having to use his services.  It is common knowledge in the hobby that efficiency is not is his strength.

Very nice tag.... www.datatags.com always does top notch work!

Gonna look good...... WHEN IT'S PLUM CRAZY!!!!!!!
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

 :iagree:

Cut out the middle man, get your tag in about a month, and save a lot of $$ by going direct to AG Backeast.

A G Backeast took only one week and for only $50!

In that case, then, kudos to Datatags for their work!

I did order the data tag workup as well as the Registry letter. All that was done last August, two months after the order (June 2005). Why it took this long is beyond me. But all in all I am happy with the quality of the tag.

Galen sounds like a one man operation (with Diane's help) and spreading himself thin across multiple gigs. Doesn't help that he's probably the busiest he's ever been...

Pointing out the direct sources for the tags will help others get theirs much faster!

That week of August 15, 1970 sure seemed like a godly week at Hamtramck...lots of T/A's, Six-Pak's, some AAR's, H-code 340's, and a few Hemi's sprinkled in..  :wavingflag:
