Is a white interior pure white or off white?
« on: June 30, 2006 - 07:27:11 AM »
Received my new Legendary seat covers for the Barracuda today and they are off-white (almost cream) when every picture I have seen led me to believe they would be a pure white.  The covers do seem to match the old hinge covers etc but I had assumed they had discoloured with age.  My seats and door panels had been recovered in a pure white vinyl and this led me to believe (along with reference pictures) that the new covers would be more white.  Can someone indicate what is correct as I am concerned that the white door panels may not match when I order them.  Cheers, Mark.

The interior is an off white kind of cream colour. I was able to find a piece of the plastic molding the was protected from sunlight and it was off white. Yes the legendary seats are correct.

The interior color is not a refridgerator white but a slightly off white. My Legendary seat covers very closely match the rest of my interior trim.

Sounds similar to the PW1 White Chrysler used on their cars.
White in some light but realistcally a cream coloured white.

I painted mine PW7 White or Bright White to escape the dull cream colour.

the off white doesn't bother me too much, just whether the doors will match etc.   Going to contact the store tomorrow and get them to check it out and work out the awy ahead from there.  Let you know the progress.

can you post a picture?  Im still working on finding if I really received 200 white.  We discussed it in the thread (here).  Here's what I received... there is a big difference between off white and what I got:

Mopar73340's post on the other thread (sheet of white paper against the vinyl) looks similar to what I have although probably geeting close to Redlines covers also.  Will get some pics and post them up for reference.  Contacted dealer and they claim the Legendary covers are based on the original DuPont colour codes and should be correct.  I'll probably just order the door covers now to compare before the seats get recovered just in case something needs to be returned.  Frustrating thing i that my old plastic panels had been covered in vinyl so recovering them would seem to be an option but would still have to recolour them anyway as can either get the right grain or a close colour but not both in the same vinyl.

Interior trim is painted EW1 which matches the seat covers.

Door trims arrived yesterday and its all good.  Colours all match or are very close.  Even found a rattle can colour to do the hinge covers with.
For info, the door trims and seat backs are Accu-Form and are a basic white plastic that has been painted to match.  Now hopefully they will actually fit when the time comes.  Thanks for the paint code PlumCrazy - local paint shop has a Chrysler/Mitsubishi Spinnaker White with a code of EWH so will have to get them to mix some to see if it is a better match than the one I have.

p.s.  did a test fit on the seat backs and they don't quite line up with the factory hinge cover plates - can't all go right :pullinghair:
