The JUNKMAN is finally going to be on TV.  I have heard about this movie but have never been able to find it.
It is directed by Toby Halicki - the fellow who wrote/ directed/ produced/ starred in the first GONE in 60 Seconds.

A few years later he made THE JUNKMAN , which reportedly has the most car crashes EVER in one movie !

It was made in 1982 so there should be lots of vintage iron and old musclecars....

It is going to be on SPEEDVISION [ SPEEDTV]  this Saturday , July 8th on their show "the lost drive in"

   Televised times are :
Eastern Time zone :  11:30 PM and 2:30am[9th]
      Pacific           :   8:30 PM and 11:30 PM
      Central        :    10:30 PM and        1:30am[9th]
      Mountain            : 9:30 PM  and    12:30am [ 9th]

Dont know when it may ever show again, and I've never seen it for sale.   If you liked the original Gone in 60 Seconds, this one might be better ........ Set your DVR's   and    VCR's !

Yes, I believe he died when a stunt went wrong and a big water tower came down on him-...something about a guy-wire.

he actually died filming Gone in 60 Seconds 2.  They got aboput 3 months of filming in, and he, as said, was killed when an errant guide wire knocked over a water tower.

72rt is right . he died by watertower. Falling on him filming 60 secs 2.  I understood that a truck from the movie hit the wire causing the collapse.

pretty interesting situation.... but you can get both movies from his website:

http://www.gonein60seconds.com/toby/toby.htm

his Wife is a big part of getting him recognised...also why the remake was done.

you can even get the 3rd in the trilogy (Gone in 60 seconds 2)

I caught it last weekend and thought it wasn't too bad.  I still like VP, Bullitt, and Gone in Sixty Seconds better, but I think I'll get this one just so I have the complete trilogy. :2thumbs:
