    a buddy wants to know what the absolute maximum on cam specs for a stone stock 360 is ...I dont have any idea but I am guessing somewhere around 285 to 295 duration and about 450 lift ...anyone know for sure ?

    IMO that is too much duration for stock compression. I would say the .450 lift is fine but I would keep the duration down to around 250 to 260. :2cents:

    Is the car a manual or an auto?  Also, is the gearing stock or close to it?  Manual with steep gears will take more cam than an auto with 2:73-3:08 gears....      Oldschool

    Not much more than stock in terms of lift. If you ditch the exh valve rotators, and upgrade the springs, you can get a bit more. The factory springs dont handle too much more very well either.

    I have ran 450 lift on stock springs, with no problems, but don't expect it to run past 5000......... :bigsmile:
    The 340 cam worked real nice in a 360, and so does the 260/260 comp.
    Anything more than 216-220 @.050 duration will just make you lose power, if you have to keep your stock springs and compression.
