I am in a very similar situation! I am cloning a 318 70 Barracuda into a Cuda or an AAR for resale and I have being contemplating the exact same question.
I agree burnt orange is cool, but for resale, it might as well be brown on brown. Too limited of a market. My car is blue on blue, and again, too limited (plus I can't stand blue on blue, so it will be changed!).
In talking with many people, to hit the masses, it would have to be orange, red, or possibly yellow. If I were keeping my car, I would paint it Sublime, but I know many Mopar guys who hate that colour, but they would buy an orange or red car.
I know a lot of guys say, "Paint it a High Impact colour", but somehow they forget, some people hate pink cars, some hate lime etc. Purple is so overdone, white and black is like any other vehicle: "Too hard to keep clean", silver is just boring, brown is...well brown, green/gold/cream are cars that people repaint anyway.
I have decided to go orange, and I would suggest that to you. It (or red) would be the easiest to sell. There's a reason 80+% of 69 GTO Judges are orange (actually called Carousel Red??)....
