Gettin' ready for Carlisle!!
« on: May 23, 2007 - 08:28:17 PM »
Now it starts getting fun...

I just registered my 73 for the fun field for the weekend - my first car show ever!!!

But I have a few things to take care of first, and the repairs have already begun.  Yesterday I installed a new master cylinder and brake booster.  WOW what a difference that made...  Tomorrow I'm ordering new inner and outer tie rods (two of each - yeup I know) to fix up the play in my steering.

Last thing I'm pickin' up is an Edelbrock 1406 Performer series 600cfm Carb with electric choke (thanks for the guys who helped me make this decision.)  I got a killer deal - $220 brand new from a buddy at Advance Auto Parts - so I've got warranty and all.  I'm also gonna grab a new air cleaner cover (Auto Zone has 'em for $15, plain stainless with no markings) and then probably grab a 318 decal off of ebay for a few bucks.

And just so we're all clear, yes, I did take care of the STOPPING before I bothered improving the GOING!

Can't WAIT to meet you all there.  Anybody willing to donate me a C-C.C shirt?  I'm spending all of my money here -->  :working:

Carb came in today - THEN I learn about all the ADD-ONS I need.  :)  Problem is I have no idea what intake I have, nor which adapter I need.

I'll figure it out though - no worries.

All I need is some steel line to run fuel into the carb.  I have all the spacers and gaskets - everything is ready.  This weekend I'm installing the carb - if I have time this week I'll put in the new tie rod ends and align'er up again.  I also picked up my new chrome air cleaner and I'll hopefully win the 318 decal on Ebay tomorrow.  Only other thing I wish I could get working time is the radio, but I don't have any speakers.
