70 cuda grill - correct colour for centre grates?
« on: July 19, 2006 - 12:26:07 AM »
Just had my grill restored and the shop did a great job (especially with getting the textured silver argent right) but they painted the grate section gloss black and I had requested it be matt black.  They were of the opinion that this section on my grill was originally silver argent anyway and only painted the area black at my request.  Now I've seen plenty of pictures of grills with blacked out centre sections that looked matt but may have faded with age and know what colour I want mine to be anyway, but was wondering if anyone could confirm factory colours, differences between barracudas and cudas (not AAR) etc  Thanks.

Well, with a little more research I have found pictures of Barracudas with black centre sections in their grilles and 'Cudas with Silver Argent centre sections so I can't verify my suspicion that the grilles were tied to particular models.  Anyone solve the mystery?

I'm pretty sure the cuda have black centers and then the red line bar.  I can't even find a picture in my collection of any with argent centers since I basically focus on Cudas and AARs - all black grill.
