Have you tried putting it in drive with the back tires safety off the ground? See if they turn without having to put the load of moving the car on the motor? :clueless:

All,

After swapping out my carb with another carb from a different car, the symptoms were still there--so swapped back to my edelbrock.

I thought it was a timing issue, so I started to adjust the distributor and got a nice little shock off the coil wire.  Low and behold, the coil wire was barely hanging on.  Stuck it all the way in and took it for a test drive.  No more stalling--nice!!

Thanks for the brainstorming.  The tranny shifted hard and left two pretty good pavement marks.

Tim,

Good job.  I wasn't looking electrical here. I recently had a spark plug wire that was only part way on, and caused a miss. The coil wire... I can understand that causing your trouble when you put a load on it. Congrats!!!   :clapping:
