Hi
Not sure exactly how accurate this is but I've been told 39 shaker 71 Challengers mine is a 71 JS23H1 N96 car.
Steve

That's pretty reliable if you ask me

Sorry I was not clear in my original post. It is NOT an R/T. It is however a factory N96 car and as the VIN indicates, a original 383 car. Here are the numbers. JH23N1B188632 Fender code is on car and original, it breaks down as follows:
N41     N96    R26    V6W    EN2
V1X     U     C16     C56  J25   M21
CF7    N6X9    000  A20   008557
E65     D32    JH23    N1B    188632
The motor and tranny is long gone, but when I purchased the aforementioned cars and parts I also got a 6-pack motor (- intake ) and tranny that came out of a 70 Superbee. So my original questions was:
Would the car be more valuable as a 6 pack clone or should I seek out the correct date code 383 and put it back to non-numbers original?????
If pertinent, I would be glad to post some more pics.    Thanks Mark

Well,     I would rather have the 6 pack, however after looking at the price of intakes and the shaker base for a 6 pack, I want to make sure it makes financial sense to go that way. If the car is worth more in it's original state (383), it wouldn't make sense to me to spend the extra dough and clone it to a 6 pack. Am I making sense?

Personally I don't see much financial gain going from a date correct 383 to a 440 6 pack, the 6 pack MIGHT garner more money come selling time but the real value in that car is the hood option, you may not gain enough to cover the cost difference of the 6 pack engine (but you MIGHT if you install a Hemi).

What you need to seriously consider is it's a very rare and desirable car regardless of the engine.

One thing I would HIGHLY reccomend, leave everything else original if you change to a 440 engine, that way it's easy to swap back for the next owner. Something as drastic as a color change would be shear dissaster if you ask me.

So here is another option....I mention the 6 pack, because I have one sitting here. The only thing I know about hemi's is that everybody wants one! Would that be a more viable option???
