I am stuck with what to finish next,please help me decide

I finally think I have some spare time to restart my GC and am debating what to do?
The car is stripped down completely but I am not sure If i should finish a few little things and take her into a paint shop to get her painted topside or pull the K member and rear end,blast and paint the undercarriage myself(which I am going to do either way) or do it after the top side in painted?I am getting anxious to one or the other,any recommendations is appreciated

I would think the undercarraige  should come first.

Only seems rational to get the grunge work out of the way so that after paint all you have is re-assembly

Have you got yor motor out, suspension & steering box off? If so It looks like four big ole bolts hold it to the frame.

I wouldn`t want all that blasting dust and crap all over a new paint job so get the underneath stuff done first.

   Totally agree with these guys.  If you are going to spend money on a nice paint job, don't risk it being damaged from trying to blast the bottom.  I can sympathise with you about getting color on the car, but try to be patient and you will be much happier in the end.

everything is out except the power steering box,which I was going to remove with the K member.It is completely stripped of all body parts including fenders,hood,radiator cowl ect.Its so close to go to paint,I will do the undercarriage first though

undercarriage comes first,,, remove tortion bars, disconnect upper arms floor jack under K 4 bolts and let her down .Clean it up new paint and suspension components reinstall the send her off to paint on 4 wheels unless its currently on a rot or dolly

Definitely the undercarriage first.  Check out the DS frame rail carefully.  I found quite a surprise when I pulled off my K-member.  Seems there are interior gusset plates that trap dirt or sand.  My car was sandblasted in the late 80's and the sand got trapped inside the frame.  Rusted it out quite nicely.

My bodyman just came over and had and interesting thought to my dilema.He said i will get overspray on the undercarriage in the paint process so my question is if i paint topside first wont it be easier to mask off the top than visa versa?
