I just picked this car up.  It has been sitting for more than 30 years.  Solid frame rails.  Needs front floors and part of the trunk.  Has vin tag.  Found trans am tag in dirt on floor.   No fender tag.  Getting title soon.   It has 66000 on the rally dash.  Originally a white car.  Any ideas on how to find out if any info exists on this car?

You can try the AAR cuda and T/A challenger registry.

Alaskan_TA has a ton of info and runs the registry. Just give him your vin number and he can check to see if he has any info on the car.  :2thumbs:

Quite busy.  I didn't expect to ever find an AAR.  I always here stories of barn yard finds and have been looking for 5 or 6 years for a good cuda find.  This is the first real find.  I am very excited.
I don't know any options aside from it is a 4 speed, it is white, it had a black head liner and cpillar trim boards.  It had black seat belts.  The car was an undercoated car.  It does not appear to have the original rear or springs on it.

No drivetrain is a shame though, the original rear would have been the least of my worries.
Is the plan to clone/re-create it back to it's past glory with the correct colour and what not?

Yes the plan is to try to return it to original.  I have always wanted a cross country custom but I really don't mind having a piece of rare history.  I have always kind of wanted a white on white car.  I have a 64 LINK that has a white interior and I sure do like the cleanliness of a white interior.  My favorite exterior color is still Black though.  I recieved word that the guy who had the fender tag might be able to run along it some time in the not so near future.  He probably has it in an old tool box that is sitting out in one of his 6 barns.  I have tried to track down the original drivetrain but that probably won't pan out.  The car will still get a 340 ta engine when I can find one that I can afford.  Looks like I will have to settle on a custom 71 440 cuda.  Ahh one day.

You could just get a regular 340 block with some T/A heads.
