Hood Clearance Issues

I would like to see if anyone has any intake setups that worked on a Charger. I am running a 500 CI Wedge Crate motor in a 68 Charger. I have stage VI heads and was running a adapter plates with a dual plane intake, 870 street avenger and a 3" K&N Filter with a drop base (2.5 inches carb flange to top). This fits but I want to go with the M1 intake I have. I have the M1 milled a bit off the top and it's exactly 1" taller than the previous setup. To be safe I wanted to keep the same height. Since the motor is out of the car now I can't do any measurements but I thought I would see if I someone has any recommendations so i can slam it in and go!

with only 1.5" to the hood you may restrict air flow into the carb & negate any gains , you will need a drop base filter & probably a 3 " element , Chargers are tough with no factory raised hoods available
