1970 Challenger zoomies

Just got the tips welded onto my zoomies last weekend and felt like showing em off. The tips are polished stainless but I won't be buffing them until the car is painted... but they still look good. I made the welder smile... and me to.

Those are cool!  I almost got a set off craigslist but thought I wasn't going to have the engine to back up such a wild exhaust.

What are you running for mufflers?

What will the car eventually look like?

What happens when it rains?  Is there a drain hole?  Necessary?

Sorry everyone, family issues have kept me busy for a few weeks. I'll try and answer sthe questions.

As for legality, I am not sure. The muffler guy was not sure. I drove it around a bit after I had it done and even passed a few police and they didn't pull me over. I think when it's painted I might run into less hassles... if the do arise.

They are pretty loud... just the way i like em. They are 3" inch straight tubing to 3" dynomax drag mufflers... which are basically a 4" encased 3" straight pipe into the zoomie collector. The engine supports it. It is nothing super radical. Its a bored out 360 so I guess its a 366 or such. 500 lift cam. It's got a mild idle but gets chinky at 500rpm which sounds trmendous now with the pipes. :) I had the pipes on before without the zoomies (just straight) so the sound didn't get any louder, but the tone changed a bit... for the better. A little deeper I think. Of course that could be my imagination. It also doesn't kick up the Pig Pen cloud when I pull through the dirt section of my driveway now.
I don't have drain holes in the very bottom as of yet. i will experiment with that. Where the polished stainless tips are attached to the steel exhaust, the welds on teh bottom 90 degrees or so are not completed so it has room to drain. that won't stop the stuff from the direct center so i am thinking i may need to put a little weep hole in the bottom, but I will experiment.
As for what the car is going to look like, basically a cleaned up version of that. Going gloss black (it was originally Vanishing Point White). Going with black steel Cragar wheels and minimal chrome (window, windshield, front hood, tail moulding, door handles, and my 2 skulls where the vinyl top chrome used to mount on the rear pillar). Same stance. Same style hood (put a steel scoop instead of this fiber one). Same spoiler. As for interior... maybe black or charcoal grey. Aluminum dash.

I hope that answers some questions before I REALLY start rambling about my car.
