Broadcast Sheet re-united with TX9 Hemi Challenger!

It has been a good year for me in my quest to re-unite broadcast sheets and other documents with the cars they belong to.

Earlier this year I was able to provide the current owner of a 1970 Hemi Road Runner I previously owned with old registration paperwork and other related material, and had also previously provided old photographs of his car.  Then Barry Washington found a Challenger T/A on eBay that I had a broadcast sheet for.  I sent the broadcast sheet to Barry, and last I heard he was waiting for the current owner to get a clear title and provide proof of ownership.

Now, another major success!... A friend of mine was at the Mopar Nats and was approached by someone that saw he had Texas license plates, and asked if he had ever heard of me. After the guy explained that he was looking for the broadcast sheet and other documentation for the car, my friend told him he knew me... and had just seen me before his trip to the Nats.  He took the guy's phone number and other basic information and passed it on to me when he returned from the Mopar Nats.

The current owner lives in Florida, and not being addicted to the Internet like a lot of Mopar motorheads, had not seen my posts on Moparts and other message boards about having the broadcast sheet... he found me the old-fashioned way... with a LOT OF LUCK!!!

After receiving proof that he owned the car, I sent the broadcast sheet to him by next day Express Mail... I normally send items by 2-Day Priority Mail, but he seemed ready to have heart failure if he had to wait a few days so I took some time off work to retrieve the original and Express Mail it to him.

He received it this afternoon and called me this evening... He is one happy camper now! As I type this, he is busy de-coding the broadcast sheet and his car is in a paint & body shop for the beginning of the restoration.

The car is a black 4 speed 1970 Hemi Challenger R/T!   

I need to post the rest of the material I have on Barry's website so there can be more items re-united.

Very cool, feels great when it happens. 

There was a T/A block for sale at the Nats too, a buddy of mine wrote the VIN down along with the sellers name. He emailed me the info when he got home. I contacted the brother of the T/A owner (the owner moved and did not let me know) and his brother gave him the info. I am still waiting to hear back on that one.....

The more people that report what they have and register their cars the more often these matchups can happen.

  Great to see Mopar guys helping each other out.
I have a `70 road runner misssing a broadcast sheet,anybody deal with those cars specifically to send the info to?

Hey Clown,
I may take you up on that. Once my T/A is done I want to take it to Lime Rock and go through their racer class. 

As far as the good people go, there are a lot of them involved here. I have gotten items from 100's of people from all over the world so I can try and find the cars the items match. Mopar people are the BEST people. There is no way I could do what I do without a lot of help.

It's a great feeling when things like that are reunited, and it's good to know the car is in the hands of someone who cares enough about these details to "want to get it done.  There is a wonderful group of peolple who really take time to try to do this sort of thing(Barry, Galen etc.).

On a personal note, my JS29VOB193313 came from San Antonio so if you hear anything I'm looking for the motor and the tranny(4sp).  Fortunatley I have the broadcast sheet, etc. and I'm putting another 70 motor/tranny in it that came from a V code Challenger that had been "rolled' many years ago.  small world.

Hi Tom, welcome to forum!  The San Antonio meet is coming up soon, might be a good place to have a sign made for.  I believe the meet will be during the first weekend of October.  Also you might try to get an advert in their newsletter or Internet page.  Right now the SA club doesn't seem as active as in the past, so I am not sure what is the best way to get the word out.  I am not sure if I know the car you have... is it the green one from near Hot Springs avenue?
