CUDA ENGINE BACK IN PROGRESS UPDATE
« on: August 20, 2006 - 11:21:23 PM »
Well I got the 340 back together last week after the rod bearing had spun back at the end of June with 721 miles on the engine. I put it back in the Cuda on Saturday with the transmission hooked to the engine. It took about 30 minutes to get it lowered into place and it was better than getting under the car to put the transmission in. I put the drive shaft back in and the shifter is in place but have not got the linkage put on the overdrive transmission yet. I spent most of today putting on the power steering pump, alternator, coil, distributor, harmonic balancer and pulley, radiator, fan shroud, fan blade, oil sending unit, and also hooked up the heater hoses and radiator hoses and got the carburetor put back on and hooked up the fuel lines. I stripped the exhaust manifolds and recoated them with high temp manifold gray coating from POR 15. I still need to put the clutch linkage on, starter back on, and put the exhaust manifolds on and bolt the exhaust pipes to the manifolds. I hope to have it up and running by next weekend as that maybe the first chance I get with my work keeping me busy with many 12 hour shifts lately. I'll take some pictures and post when I get her fired up and let everyone know what I think of the overdrive 4 speed transmission I put in the Cuda.
