timing is at 16*, antifreez is 50/50 mix no additive, there could be a vac. leak, and it could be lean, i will check. The radiator and 16lb cap are new, dont know it they actually need flow testing. Lower hose is not collapsing. There is no heater, I plugged off the water pump housing hose barb fittings. I will get a 180* t-stat and see if that changes it.

I would like it to stay like at 200 max. I've seen it go up to 210 then I shut it off.

KellysCuda: What fan setup does BeCool supply? What type of shroud is there?

I would recomend adding some watter wetter to the coolant. i will only increase the coolant systems potential in disipating heat.
looks like you answered everything else that I would be after except for the vac leak.

What is the Compression ratio of the engine ?

What is your timing set at ?

You may be exposing too much of the cylinder wall(heat sink) to peak combustion temperatures, or, it may be as simple as friction on the new engine.

I had a dual fan setup similar to yours on my 340 and had hi-temp problems. My car is an AC car with 26" 2core radiator. I played with different temp t-stats with no improvement and finally went back to my stock shroud and fan. Temps were improved but not as cool as I'd like to see in the middle of summer. I advanced the timing just marginally and it helped some but I still had climbing temps on long highway stretches. I probably am going to a 3core (or larger) radiator.

I started a thread caled "cooling down the engine" and got lots of help and advice. I didnt know there were so many variables that could affect engine temp.   :clueless:

I would change the t-stat to a 180.With the 160 in it what is going on is it is opening to soon and the actual temp isnt coming down far enough for the t-stat to open and close properly.
