« on: August 21, 2006 - 03:30:38 PM »
i am thinking of changing my barracuda 72 hood to AAR hood i have been looking around for the best place to get them
Year one, aar Fiberglass and Usbody  :clueless:

fiberglass hood from AAR fiberglasses for 420$, usbody for 499$ but with August 15% discount it will come to 420$
and year one it offer the hood for 699$
i am looking for strong hood bolt in look and feel like AAR hood that will fit without warp or flexing it will be shipped overseas

which one you recommend
thankx in advance

Where abouts are you from baracuda72?  :dunno:

On the subject, do they make steel AAR hoods yet?  :clueless: I like the AAR hood but fiberglass is not my thing.
They warp and are only recommended to be used with stock factory hood hinges at shows for a correct look.

Cool, isn't Dubai in Africa or South Africa?
I know they have a Dubai there, they play Rugby test matches there.

Yeah, steel would definitely be the way to go. The fiber glass ones are under a lot of stress when you use factory hinges, even the less strung AAR hinges warp and buckle them. You could have a 4 or 6 pin set up?

Dubai is on my list of cities I would love to visit. I am an engineer and I was always facinated with they're modern engineering designs and architecture. Not to mention I hear they have cheap jewerly...lol.

These are the two structures that are amazing:

If i'm not mistaken the development on the water in the second picture is well underway. Now that is amazing real estate!

The old hoods warped apparently. I also heard that somebody makes new fiberglass hoods with stronger interial supports so they won't twist or bend.

I saw a custom 68 GTX with an AAR scoop grafted onto the flat GTX hood. I guess you could go that route.
