Firewall grommet used for what tube or hose?

If you look at the picture I attached and look below on the fire wall where the two drain tubes go thru from the heater box,  you will see another hole that has three small screw holes around it --  can someone help reminding me what is this was used for?  I couldnt find it it the service manual. and an friend with an SE is asking. here's the firewall hole

Chris,

  On my car, there is a small nipple coming out of that hole. Whatever it is, is mounted from the inside. I'll have to snap a pic later for you. I figure it must be AC related, because mine connects to nothing, and my AC stuff was removed.

 :iagree:  I have the same little hole and my car is an A/C car with stuff removed.

drain for the a/c condensation so it doesn't make the winsheild fog up

Thanks Mike-  Exacty-  I have that grommet piece.... but I dont know if it is the vaccuum line fromt he carb to the ac/heater box-  or some other drain line or what.

I beleive its for the vacume line from the a/c acuater to intake
