AAR Heads
« on: May 28, 2002 - 07:20:29 PM »
I have 2 sets of what are supposed to be AAR heads. Both are casting number 3418915 and both have the "360" marking. Both have the offset rocker assemblies and offset intake pushrod holes. One set has the "J" or "U" casting by the spark plug holes and the other has a "Z" on one head and an "O" on the other. Galen's book says that the "J" or "U" heads are correct. The "J/U" heads definately have the bigger intake valves. The "Z/O" heads are on the car so I can't tell. The offset pushrod holes and rocker assemblies on the Z/O heads have me stumped. Could they be correct? I have pictures if it would be helpful.

If it has the relocated pushrod holes the should be correct unless they are a W2 casting as they are the only heads I`m aware of that have relocated pushrod holes. I believe that the push rod lenght is the same as well & cannot find a separate listing for T/A engines but they do use a mechanical rocker pushrod that would only interchange with the 273 or aftermarket

It is a performance head available from Mopar , far superior to any of the production heads that used offset rockers on the intake side just ike the T/A head

Another ancient thread.  :22yikes:

The T/As and AAR heads used J, O, U and Z heads. The ONLY way to know for sure if they are T/A heads is to look for the offset pushrod holes.
