Passenger side Remote Mirror, Challenger
« on: August 21, 2006 - 09:07:58 PM »
When I started removing parts from  my car, I found that the passenger side  racing style mirror had the remote cables attached to it but they were laying in the bottom of the door  cavity.  I don't know where they go thur to get to the dash area or if they were supposed to or not.  Any thoughts????   Thanks,

1970 Challenger 440 R/T S/E   but has some 73 interior.

The only passenger side mirrors I know of with remote cables are from mid-seventies B-bodies. Do you have a photo?

I will take a pic and measure the cables.  There was no provision in the door inside panel so I am thinking that it went thur the door frame and threaded into the dash area near the drivers side somewhere.....?????...  David

I know late 70's Aspens and Volare's had the remote passenger side mirror. The base looked the same as the E-body's almost, but it screwed on from inside the door.

I agree with Barry.  It sounds like a Cordoba mirror.  It has some interesting possibilities.

The guy who restored my car over 6 years ago installed duel power mirrors. Why I don't know. :clueless:

OK. I am goint to try to attach a few pics of the  mirror.  The part # inside (best I can read) is 3861327   53003.  The length of the cable is approx 80" long.            It has a rubber gromet like it goes thur the door frame and then into the dash area??          Information............David

That definitely isn't an E-Body mirror, although the head could be, but later year Mopar's used that same head too. I just think someone got creative with your car.

If you could get the correct base, it would be nice to have  a remote right side mirror. Just mount the control to stick out through the bottom center of the dash so it doesn't show. Kinda like the map light switch.

Definetly not the short base found on 1970 models. That was the only year for the short base. They are very pricey too. :grinyes:
