Magnuim heads on a 340
« on: September 02, 2006 - 09:20:39 AM »
I might be getting my hands on a complete 318 magnum engine, but all i want are the heads off it to strap on to the 340 i got sitting in the garage. My question is what does it all in tale to put these heads on there, or am i smoking crack once again. Also what kinda changes can i expect between magnium heads and the stock x heads?? The Stock ones i got have a **** load of machine work that needs to be done to them, and lack of cash isn't helping. Yea any help is greatful.

Thanks the crazy cheesehead

I put magnum heads on a 360 and while the heads were better than the stock ones, there is a lot of extra parts involved.  New lifters (AMC style), pushrods, gaskets, and intake are all nessessary.  I would use the Edlebrock intake this time around.

Change in plans with the magnium heads. The things was that my buddy's sister blew a water pump on her darango and she was going to scrap it out, plus she heard a clanking nosie right before she turned it off. So now i am thinking i might just fix the water pump and get a me free car, and see what else is wrong with it. :D  :cooldancing:
