Can anyone tell me the special options or what is different about a 1969 barracuda 340-s car?

I think on the outside of the car the grills were black, center of the tailpanel was also black and it would also have two scoops on the hood with two black stripes.I think thats when the name cuda first got used by mopar also.I will look later today but I know that I have an original motor trend magazine with the 69 340 cuda test in it,just need to remember where I put it.------the clown

Nothing really special about the "S", if this is for a car you are looking at, just pass the info along to me.

The "S" refers to a suspension package, I think.

Seriously, welcome to the board, and post pics!
(And if you are not interested in the car, pass on the info)

Formula S.... Is a suspension upgrade package from the standard suspension, bascially bigger t bars, bigger springs, bigger shocks, and most came with a 340 or a 383 under the hood. Also the grills where different, the inside ring should be black or argent, trying to remember which one was for a formula s, and which one wasn't. If you need more info, contact me, I got a 69 340-S and a 68 383-S

In 1969 you could order the Formula "S" Package or the 'Cuda Package.  Both packages came with a 340 or 383/4, heavy-duty suspension and E70x14 red-stripe tires. The 'Cuda included a 4-speed manual (Torqueflite optional) and was not available as a convertible.  'Cudas got the twin hood scoops and lower body paint treatment.  Formula 'S' got an exterior badge.
