Well,I painted the under body today.I got most of it but still have to remove some undercoating above the rearend and then blast will finish the underside.I learned some big lessons today and wasnt worried too much about an occasional drip or run in the paint since it is underneeth.I will NEVER use an HVLP spray gun doing under body paint again(thats when you have the car jacked up and not on a rotisserie)After crappy results trying to keep the gun in an upright position while lying on my back i thought i would try the cheap 15 dollar pressure gun i got from harbor freight. It worked PERFECT since i didnt have to worry about position of the gun.Sure it sprayed a lot more material than HVLP but it worked MUCHO better.I wish someone would have told me this before i sprayed all the primer and then paint.I wanted to paint and primer in the same day so i didnt have to sand the primer.I painted within the 30 minute flash time of the primer.I have been hesistant in the past to try it because its my first painting experience,It wont be the last since I am tons more confortable after just Gettin R done.I wont spray the outside of a car though and will always have that professionally done.
