73 CUDA- WIPER Park position, my wipers get stuck when they go to park.

When  my  wipers  go to the park  position  on the SS trim piece  at the base  of the windshield  they  get stuck  on the edge  of the trim. The  trim  is  sitting  away  from the glass thou? I have  it  attached  with the screws  in the base  and  ends  .....should  it  be  'glued'  down  tight to the windshield  glass? with  silicone  or something  similiar? I've  seen other cars  where this  trim  is pretty  mangled  to get the  edge  flat to windshield  .......mines  not thou ....when  I  manually  park them  they  come  on fine...thx.......

Mine had that too, just little beat at it and re-shape it to fit your windscreen.  Not sure if we used any glue/silicone.....also, make sure you have correct wiper arms, never know, someone could have replaced the originals with aftermarket ones hence them not retracting properly. After 34+ years anything is possible........
