What is the best and safest way to remove the belt mouldings.

I believe they have clips underneath them, that you have to unscrew.

Which belt mouldings?
The door top has nuts on both ends and then clips,sometimes you can slide the moulding off.Hood and fenders pop off with a rubber mallet,convert well mouldings have screws from underneth,the back long peice on the well might have clips and will just pop off towards the front of the car.

Mike, I was just wondering about your trim. In '70, they used way too many holes for mouldings and screws. It's a wonder how our cars lasted this long with the poor inside sheet metal treatment.
