Huh, had this discussion a while back.....I don't think anyone really knows the answer to this.
Some factory cars did, others didn't. I'm not sure about the Trans-Am cars though........

From what I've eard/seen, the area on the upper quarters of the Challenger T/A's got that decal under the spoiler area.  I've been told it was a factory decision to keep the paint from wearing thin.

Do you have any references? We've done this topic before, you, Barry and others couldn't conclude so if you've found something new it would be good to see. I went without, like the look better, others don't. IMO and I'm sure I'm right from previous discussions, either or is correct there is no reference from DC to confirm either.

Didn't know they sold decals for above the taillights, I've never seen any. Do they make them nowadays because they thought it would be easier or were the decals actually avaiable from the factory/parts store back then?  :dunno:

I think it is pretty clear this is supposed to be Organisol Black Paint and not a decal (at least for a Challenger T/A.)
I think it adds a unique OE touch to the car and like it... My car will be a R/T Shaker Clone though... HHHMMM :clueless:

Should I do it anyway??...  :ylsuper:

I see, sorry Neil, slight misunderstanding there.  Didn't think they made upper tail light decals.   :bananasmi

I stand corrected... Thanks Chryco. Under the corners of the spoiler they use decals... understood. Did I mention I am terrible at reading those engineering drawings! HA!

The decals for under the spoiler tips should be included with any T/A stripe kit, ask to make sure before you order.

The rear edge of the decklid is painted.

T/Ake care,
Barry
