In my opinion, if it were just like a Crown Vic or something he was driving, I don't think it would be as cool. It would be just another crime movie. Not enough blood and gore to be deemed a horror movie. I think the car makes it.
One part of the movie has him knocking off his door to let the girl jump in. I thought it was cool how the police find just the door and could identify that it was a S/S Barracuda by that plaque thing that says something like, "This car is not meant to be driven on public roads, yada, yada, yada, .."
I think they stopped making this movie in 2004. I got it used, I think for like $6-7. It's a keeper just to see him ripping around in the Barracuda, IMO.
