Do I need a special flexplate/converter for this setup? The block was cast in 72(for 73) it says use for cast crank(damper).
Thanks everyone. My first 340

Yes , the converter will have very small weights on it . I will post a pic when I get to the shop Sat. morning.

Thanks I found a B+M Flexplate 10234 it looks like I can use a zero balance converter w/this. I have a stock 318 converter now but I would like to upgrade to an aftermarket one when I swap motors. I have a 904 trans that will need a rebuild eventually. Unless I can find a 727 to replace it

Yup , that one will work.
Here is a pic of what a stock 727 '73 340 converter would look like.
