Build sheet / cute story..
« on: September 16, 2006 - 09:39:09 AM »
I was out in the garage this morning just finishing up some saturday yard work. Thought for the heck of it would look for my build sheet. Went under back seat, pulled the backs off the buckets, kinda fished around to no avail. The car does have a new interior so who knows if there is one. So I put the car cover back on it  and got into some other things..

Anyway there's some younger kids (7-8 maybe)playing down the alley a little ways. I see one of the boys run past the garage after the ball they were playin with.  Didn't pay much attention. All of a sudden I turn around and he's in my garage. With eyes as big as saucers... "what kind of car is that?" I tell him ... and mind you it's still covered.
"WOOOWWW THATS A COOOL CAR!!"

I think we've got a future E-body man here!!  :2thumbs:

That is encouraging because my daughter's male friends seem only to be interested in exotics.

Kids who like these cars are awesome! A couple years ago I was walking out of the hardware store back to my Challenger. A man and his son had parked on the other side of me and I overheard them talking as I walked to the car;

Son - Cool car! What year is it dad?

Dad - 1973.

Son - But the license plate says '71.

Dad - It is a 1973.

As I walked past them I said "Sharp kid, it is a 1971" and gave him a  :thumbsup: he was probably close to 6 or 7 years old.

Parents should listen to their kids.  :bigsmile:

We just love when kids take a real interest in the car.  The kind of kids where the parents keep walking, but for some reason, the kid's legs just won't carry him away from the car.  For those kids (and they are rare), we make sure we give them the whole tour including a seat behind the steering wheel.  You know you've really made an impact when they just can't say thank you enough and want to shake your hand. I love it! :grinyes:  Great story Big!

First time out with my car I was sitting at a light waiting to turn left and there were two kids on the side of Route 59 (probably 12-13 years old) and I heard one of them say to the other..."That's a Challenger!".  Smart kids.

Yeah, their parents probably would have called it a Charger or worse yet, a Camaro! :smilielol:

That is a cute story.  It is nice to see the little ones showing an interest in muscle cars.
