Hood alignment question, how to adjust?
« on: September 22, 2006 - 10:27:44 AM »
The drivers side front of my hood sits too high.  Is there a way I can adjust the hood so it is even with the fender and headlight bezel?

the hood bumper can be threaded down so the hood can sit lower , then you may need to adjust the hood latch , to pull the hood down more

tape all the edges of your fender / hood/ etc. too... that way you dont scratch your paint if you mess up. Just my .02.

My driver's side sits too low. Maybe we should swap hoods? :smokin:

The plot thickens.  Just for laughs and grins I took the coiled spring off (the one just to the drivers side of the latch) and shut the hood. With the spring off the hood lined up correctly?! I had a brief panic when I tried to unlatch the hood, as it didn't seem to work!  I did get it to unlatch after a few tries so I could open the hood again.  I certainly don't want to leave the spring off, but it does seem to be exerting too much force on the drivers side of the hood and that is what is causing it to stay raised a little higher than it should sit.  I am not sure there is anything I can do about the spring exerting too much force?

I was just going to say...That's usually a sign that your hood hinges need rebuilding... :2thumbs:

try adjusting the hood latch down a little & see if it pulls it down tight now
