360 heads casting numbers
« on: September 23, 2006 - 03:50:28 PM »
i am looking to put a set of 360 heads onto my 318. i want the heads to have closed chambers and non-hardened seats. the problem is that i don't know the casting numbers of any heads that match that description. so if anybody knows their 360, please help me out. thanks

Umm I don`t either , all 360 heads used a 66-68 cc head, from experience I can recommend the late 87-92 308 castings though
W2 heads have the smaller combustion chambers though if you want to go that route @ 58 cc

naw 58cc combustion chambers are way to small and my compression will soar with stock pistons. i dont wanna take the compression over 10:1 cr. 308 then, huh? ok thnx

umm..no....not quite. I have 56cc J-heads on my 318, stock replacement/flat .030 pistons, not decked, and just a replacement head gasket and 9.7:1 cr...decently far from 'soaring' or going over 10:1

I have 915 open J's. Milled.

and those 58cc W2 heads are a weeeeeeee bit more expensive than your average 360 head. Especially to put on a 318.
