Don't hate the player ...........
« on: September 24, 2006 - 09:21:09 PM »
Had to do it, I bought a 2006 GT Mustang.  Always loved the way the 68-70's looked.  The 0% financing for 6 years made the decision easier.  Car drives great, 300hp, full leather, handles great too.  It has made me more aware of the power of my 340 which has more seat of the pants torque.

$28k out the door.

The new Mustang is the only car on the market today that could get me to buy a domestic breed of new vehicle... much less a Ford. Especially when the Shelby comes out. That thing is going to be hot.

Good choice, nice color too.

I went to the route 66 show and festival in Springfield, IL. this last weekend and one of the guys that went with us had just bought a 2007 Shelby. The car looked great but the owner admited the seat belt were not placed where they should of been making them a hassel. It was a stick and the engine has 480 HP. I should of took some pictures of it but I never. He parked next to my 70 Cuda and the Shelby got as much attention as my car Cuda did. The new mustangs are nice but I want to wait for the Challenger to come out.

:iagree: Yeah, I agree with willhaven.  The Mustang GT is like the only domestic car I'll buy right now.  For the money, it's pretty decent, pretty quick.  The retro look is cool too.  They did a nice job with it.

It'll be interesting to see what the domestic RWD/V8 sports car/ muscle car market will  look like in a few years....

Congrats on the new ride! Those are great looking cars, Ford really got it right with that styling. I really like the looks, but at 6'4" I don't think I would be to comfortable in one. I've never sat in one, but when I looked at the interior of one it just didn't look like it had enough room for me! :eek4:

392, there is another tall member on our board (I don't want to rat him out, but his initials are MEK  :smilielol: :smilielol: ) who owns a new mustang.  I think they did a great job with the mustang!  :clapping:

Congrats on the Stang!
I have a 2005 too!  :bigshades:   and totally agree that they don't have much low end.  But they are easy to hotrod.  The aftermarket has really caught up quick to them.
When I bought mine, they were the only cars that interested me.  It definitely reminds me of my old '69 Mustang I used to have.
I have to say, I am really curious to see the new Challenger and Camaro though.

My intentions exactly, but it all depends on the $$$ of the new Chally. I'm not playing games and paying 5K more than sticker price.  :grinno: The new Mustang is a fun car, and YES, the after-market stuff is unbelievable!!  :burnout:

There was a GT500 in the showroom when I bought my car, guy paid $75k, 30k OVER sticker!
I definitely agree with the seatbelt comment, it's comfortable once on, but hard to reach.

From the articles I've read both the Challenger and Camaro are 1ft longer and 6in wider than the Mustang.  I didn't want to wait 2yrs for a family size car like the Charger.  Bet the price is mid 30's also.

MEK where did you get the louvers, I've searched with no luck.
